This kitchen features side shelves, a chalkboard on the other side, a fabric covered bulletin board, working clock, working faucet (it turns, it does not connect to water), a stove with working knobs, and a working oven door.  It is 46″ tall, 54″ wide and 16″ deep.  The countertop is 24″ from the floor.

The fabric covered bulletin board is mounted with velcro, so it can be changed.  This kitchen is built to last and can be handed down to other children.

This kitchen will be for sale at the JCC Artist’s Bazaar next weekend.  The price is $230.

Kitchen Accessories 2009/10/19

Each pack will differ slightly, but each will have all of the pots, pans and utensils your child will need to stock their kitchen.  Kits are $45 and can either be picked up in Charlotte or I can ship everything to you for $10 via UPS Ground.

Each kit will typically include:

9” aluminum fry pan

6” aluminum saucier

6 1/2” aluminum sauce pan with lid

8” aluminum stock pot with lid

10” pancake turner  :  10” rubber scraper  :  10” turning fork  :  10” wooden spoon

5 mixing bowls in graduated sizes from 7.5” to 3.5”

Set of measuring cups from 1/4 cup to 1 cup

Set of measuring spoons from 1/2 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon

1 pot holder

1 kitchen towel

1 large white plastic box to store everything inside

All of these items are 100% real, not imitations or “for play only” and can be used in any “real” kitchen.  The measuring cups and spoons are accurate, the pans can be heated to make food and everything is food safe and lead free.

One happy little girl 2009/10/11

The Dwell Kitchen was auctioned off last night to benefit Cystic Fibrosis and I was able to meet the three sisters who are the recipients.  The kitchen is going into the youngest girl’s bedroom, and she was over the moon about it.  It was so wonderful to see the kids so excited about the kitchen.  We completely forgot to bring the camera; it would have been great to get a shot of her with her new kitchen.  The kitchen was a very popular item and lots of business cards were taken.  The next kitchen I make is going to be a little smaller in size, probably yellow and white with lemon curtains.  I’m going to scour Craigslist and my thrift stores this week for a unit to start with.

The “Dwell Kitchen” is Complete 2009/10/09

I’m really excited about it because of the oven door.  It took a bit of wrangling but I was able to get it to work.  It opens just like an oven door and looks great!
